The chess pieces of this set are made from polyresin, which is a durable crushed stone composite that has the feel , weight and look of stone but the durability of plastic, combining the best of both worlds. The pieces of this set are a miniature replica of the original pieces which were discovered on the Isle of Lewis off the west coast of Scotland during the year 1831. Many pieces were discovered and this is the closest interpretation of the original set. The original set is now safe and secured in the British museum of London and in Edinburgh. These pieces were featured in the movie, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. The king of this set measures 2.25 inches. |
